Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Astermax ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our web application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
Astermax is operated by Andrey Senko, a sole entrepreneur. If you have any questions about this
policy or how your data is handled, you can reach us at:
Email: support@astermax.com
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you sign in using Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password. If we add additional sign-in providers later, we will update this policy as needed.
2.2 Journal, Check-In, and Tracking Data
Astermax is designed to help you plan and reflect around moon phases, daily check-ins, mood, energy, sleep, focus, creativity, stress, social rhythm, notes, and other personal rhythm signals you choose to record. We collect the entries, ratings, tags, and notes you provide in the Service so we can show your history, help you review patterns, and provide personalized planning and reflection prompts.
You control what you enter. We do not require sensitive medical information, and you should not use Astermax to store urgent health, legal, financial, or safety information.
2.3 Optional Lunar Profile Data
If Astermax offers optional personalization based on your birth date, we may ask for your date of birth to calculate a simple lunar reference such as your birth-date moon phase. This is optional unless clearly stated in the product flow. Astermax does not require birth time or birth place for the core Moon Journal experience.
2.4 Subscription and Billing
Payment processing is handled by a Merchant of Record payment partner. Astermax does not store your payment card details. The payment partner collects and processes payment information directly, and we receive only the subscription status information and transaction identifiers needed to manage access to the Service.
2.5 Usage Data
We may collect limited aggregated or pseudonymous usage data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. If we enable broader product analytics, we will update this policy and, where required, request any necessary consent.
2.6 Technical Data
Our servers automatically record standard technical information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs. This information is used for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide moon phase calendars, journaling, check-ins, and rhythm planning features
- To show your history, summaries, and personal pattern reviews
- To generate reflection prompts and non-medical wellness/productivity suggestions
- To manage your subscription and process billing events
- To send you in-app notifications and, where permitted, push notifications
- To improve and maintain the Service
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your personal data, journal entries, or check-in history to train AI or machine learning models. If Astermax uses AI-assisted features, your data is used only as input to provide the requested product experience, unless we clearly ask for and receive separate consent for another use.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Google Sign-In — for authentication, governed by Google's privacy policy.
- OpenRouter — routes AI generation requests to language model providers. If you use AI-assisted reflection or summary features, relevant journal, check-in, and rhythm data may be included in the request so the feature can respond to your input. We aim to send only the information needed for that feature.
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection. Processes network-level data as part of delivering the Service.
- Merchant of Record payment partner — processes payment details such as card number and billing address, and manages subscriptions, refunds, and tax collection on our behalf. Astermax does not store card details directly.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data, journal entries, check-ins, tracking history, generated summaries, and subscription status for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed or anonymized within 30 days, except where retention is required by law, for example billing records for tax or compliance purposes.
Anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Objection — object to certain types of processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@astermax.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies and Analytics
We use only cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service, such as authentication and security-related functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If we enable optional analytics cookies or similar technologies later, we will update this policy and provide any consent choices required by applicable law.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and secure secret management. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we maintain appropriate safeguards.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
